East Anglian Railway Museum: Father’s Day trains event
Got a train and railway fanatic in the family? Why not celebrate Father's Day with a visit to the East Anglian Railway Museum, and a ride on a train hauled by a real-life steam engine.
For Father’s Day 2025, you are invited you to join the team at the East Anglian Railway Museum for a special Steampunk Fair, hosted in conjunction with the League of Essexordinary Gentlemen!
There will be a special Steampunk Market, with a range of stalls in the new Exhibition Hall as well as outside on the events field.
This is a family friendly event with fun for all the family.
Treat your dad this Father’s day and enjoy unlimited steam and diesel train rides, as well as unlimited rides on the Miniature railway, and access to the museum and its exhibits.
For the kids there is a train themed playground and a play and picnic bus.
During the event, the museum will be open for you to look around the various buildings, trains, displays and exhibits. The heritage trains will also be running, hauled by one of the home fleet of steam locomotives.
Unlimited rides will start at 10:30am and run until 3pm. The museum opens at 10am and closes at 5pm.

Topsail Charters Cream Tea Cruise: Father’s Day 2025
Why not get out on the water this Father’s Day and enjoy a cream tea cruise!
Topsail Charters are offering a special two island cruise from Maldon Quay, past Northey Island to Osea Island and back. Included within your trip is a delicious cream tea: a freshly baked scone with cream and jam, tea or coffee.
Boarding is at 2:15pm from Maldon.
Leaving the Quay, the barge heads down river past the Victorian Promenade Park; past the statue of Byrhtnoth guarding Maldon against marauding Vikings; Northey Island which is a bird reserve owned by the National Trust; Heybridge Basin, the entrance to the Chelmer and Blackwater Canal and to Osea Island before returning.

Brentwood Brewing Company
If you’re looking for what’s on in Essex this Father’s Day, then how about booking a brewery tour or experience day at the Brentwood Brewing Company. This Micro-Brewery based in Brentwood, is the perfect gateway into the art of brewing and serves both traditional and craft beers.
This is the ideal gift for someone with an interest in beer who wants to know a little more about the art of brewing. For £119 for a full day including a light lunch, you can get hands-on, making a beer yourself whilst gaining an understanding about the brewing process. Once the beer is ready, about a week later, you can collect 18 pints of the brew you helped to make.
This experience is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays for up to four people at a time, so it is ideal for friends or family members to do together.
