Burnham Waters has been designed to incorporate the latest technology.
Increasingly, technology is becoming a vital part of life for older people. Using it to keep in touch with their loved ones, explore new hobbies, work remotely, stay safe and monitor their property.
In fact, there are several ways that technology can help make life easier when you move into senior living communities such as the one at Burnham Waters. Our homes have many standard technology features, with options available as and when you need them.
Technology features
Our aim is to deliver an intelligent community that can support its residents and enhance their lives.
- Fibre optic connectivity All residences will be connected via our state of the art fibre optic network with up to 1000Mb supply (UK average stands at 22Mb currently) which enables remote working, video streaming, video chat with friends and family living far away and support health monitoring and fall detection systems. This can help our residents and their families feel connected and less lonely. Internet services over the fibreoptic cable are chargeable (approximate rate £50 per month) which will be maintained at rates competitive to the market.
- Fall detection systems An excellent way for vulnerable residents to feel safe in their homes. Nobi, available as an upgrade option, can monitor movement and let care providers know if someone has fallen so our care providers or family members can quickly assist.
- Intruder alarm system An intruder alarm system is installed in every home across the community. For added reassurance, residents can choose an optional monitored service, supported by the on-site team, with notifications and escalation to the appropriate contacts or authorities where required. This is ideal for residents who travel or leave their home unattended for extended periods.
- Smart lock and video intercom These work seamlessly to allow you to see who is at your front door before answering it and also makes it easier for residents to communicate with those outside without having to go to the door. For people with limited mobility, the unlock feature allows visitors into a bungalow without the need for residents to open the door themselves.
- CCTV cameras CCTV cameras are installed to the driveway and patio area of each home, allowing residents to monitor their own property for reassurance and personal use. Additional CCTV is planned along perimeter walking routes and within communal areas to support site oversight and the management of shared spaces.
Nobi & Nabita Smart Lamps
Fall detection and health monitoring within the home.
With Burnham Waters' advanced connectivity, we can install the latest health care and fall detection technology in our homes in a seamless, non-intrusive way. We are excited to have partnered with Nobi to provide our residents with the option of installing the Nobi & Nabita smart lamps within our bungalows at Burnham Waters.
Nobi believes everyone has the right to spend their golden years in a safe and happy environment, and we couldn't agree more. Nobi helps older adults continue enjoying their lives, in the comfort of a familiar environment, according to their own rules. This aligns with our own belief that we should provide longevity within the home even with aging health challenges.
