Looking for things to do in Burnham-on-Crouch throughout July 2023? The team at Burnham Waters are locals! This week, we thought we’d cover some of the exciting upcoming events and goings on the town has to offer over Summer! It’s the perfect excuse to gather your family and friends, try new things, make memories and of course, have some fun in the sun!
Midsummer Music Festival
Top on our list for upcoming things to do in Burnham-on-Crouch is the Midsummer Music Festival! This is a one-off celebration in aid of the popular Parlour Café’s 10 year anniversary! Parlour Café can be found at the beautiful Creeksea Place Barns, which is a family-friendly retreat, wedding venue and spa! Throughout the year they hold various events, which always go down a treat with the community.
The Midsummer Music Festival will take place on the evenings of Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd July 2023, between 5pm and 11pm. Tickets are £10 per person or free for under 1’s. Guests can expect local food vendors, local musicians, cocktail bars, a beer tent and entertainment for children - we can’t wait!
Royal Burnham Yacht Club
At the heart of Burnham-on-Crouch is the yachting community and The Royal Burnham Yacht Club have a couple of food evenings coming up that will leave you with a smile on your face (and a full stomach)!
On Saturday 22nd July 2023, local business owner, Dan Hull, will be cooking up Spanish summer supper! A delicious array of Tapas will be served between 7pm-11.30pm, at a price of £35 per person. Nothing says summer more than a glass of Sangria next to the marina!
On Thursday 27th July 2023, Dan is back for a taster night between 6pm-10.30pm. Come and try delicious food and a few drinks in an idyllic setting in Burnham! For more information, visit the RBYC website.
Dan Hull Farm Shop
Talking of Dan Hull, he has recently moved into his new premises, which funnily enough, is next to the Burnham Waters site! If you’re hosting a party over the summer, or just fancy browsing a traditional farm shop with local produce, you simply have to go here!
The Dan Hull Farm Shop offers fresh meat, fish, cheese and a fresh deli counter. The business prides itself on being local, seasonal and sustainable! It’s a sanctuary for good and honest food and an essential foodie pitstop! We would highly recommended a visit.
Royal Corinthian Yacht Club
Another yacht club featured on our list of things to do in Burnham-on-Crouch is Royal Corinthians. If you’re looking for a spot of lunch in the sunshine, look no further! RCYC are offering a delicious menu over the summer on a Wednesday and Friday lunchtime. Back by popular demand, this lunchtime steal will be available between 12-2.30pm for all. Take a look at the menus here and be sure to book a table as covers get filled quickly.
Emporium on the Quay
Bistro on the Quay host a vast range of events throughout the year. On the last Sunday on the month, the craft fair, Emporium on the Quay, can be found between 10am and 3pm. Everyone is welcome – even your dog!
It always promises to be a fun-filled afternoon, with lots of different local and handmade treats and trinkets to browse over and buy. From cakes and milkshakes, to beauty products, fashion accessories and plushies – you’ll find everything you never knew you needed on the Quay. Whilst you’re there, be sure to give the delicious food and drinks at the Bistro a try. It’s a Burnham ‘must do’. The next date for this event will be Sunday 30th July.
Blue House Farm
Just 15 minutes from Burnham Waters is Blue House Farm, part of the Essex Wildlife Trust, located in North Fambridge, if you’re a nature and wildlife lover looking for things to do in Burnham on Crouch, this gem is for you. Here, you can immerse yourself in some of the best wilderness Essex offers! From beautiful walking routes, plants and shrubberies, to bird hides and grazing animals, there is so much to see on your visit here in Summer.
The Essex Wildlife Trust always makes sure that there is plenty going on across their Essex locations. Seasonal activities throughout July 2023 for all ages and abilities include:
