One of our favourite things to do in Burnham-on-Crouch is to immerse ourselves in local theatre! Just a short drive away in the city of Chelmsford is The Chelmsford Theatre, who are now showing Snow White.
While the show will not run on New Year’s Eve, they are still taking bookings for Monday 30th and New Year’s Day.
A fun and fresh new version of the classic tale, Snow White offers all the ingredients for a perfect family Christmas treat.
When an all too honest Magic Mirror reveals to the Wicked Queen that she is no longer the fairest in the land, an adventure begins where the jealous queen seeks to do away with her competition, the kind and friendly Snow White. Fleeing to a new life deep into the forest, Snow White lives happily until one day she is tempted into eating a poison apple.

If you are looking for a bit of glamour this New Years Eve in Essex then the Stoke by Nayland Resort in Colchester could be for you! Why not secure a ticket for their New Year's Eve Black Tie Gala Ball, which will run between 7pm and 1am.
The event costs £125 per person and includes:
- Champagne and canapés on arrival
- Sumptuous four-course dinner
- Live music from Band on the Run
- Bagpiper at midnight
- Fireworks display (weather permitting)
Down Hall
A little further to travel if you live locally in Burnham-on-Crouch but Down Hall in Hatfield Heath is offering a black-tie event to remember this New Year’s Eve!
The event, priced at £185 per person, will commence with a champagne reception and canapes, followed by a delicious five-course meal. Music will be provided by a singer and piano duo, Gary and Kelly Winter.
After dinner, you are invited to dance like nobody’s watching with music from their resident DJ and saxophonist until 1am.
