East Anglian Railway Museum: Father’s Day trains event
Got a train and railway fanatic in the family? Why not celebrate Father's Day with a visit to the East Anglian Railway Museum, and a ride on a train hauled by a real-life steam engine.
For Father’s Day 2026, you can take part in one of the museum’s regular ‘Steam Days’.
Enjoy unlimited rides on a train hauled by a vintage Steam Locomotive. The museum is open for you to look around the various buildings, trains, displays and exhibits. PLUS you get the added attraction of seeing one of the heritage trains in action, hauled by one of the museum's home fleet of steam locomotives on the demonstration line.
A firm favourite with families, it's a great opportunity to visit the museum and have a ride in vintage wagons or carriages pulled by a restored Steam Engine.
The museum operates unlimited rides starting at 11am – 3pm. The Museum opens at 10am right through until 5pm.

Topsail Charters Grape and Grain Cruise: Father’s Day 2026
Why not get out on the water this Father’s Day and enjoy a ‘grape and grain’ cruise!
Topsail Charters are offering a special two Island Cruise from Maldon Quay to Osea Island and back with optional Cheese Grazing Platter and a glass of local wine or beer. Boarding is at 4:30pm from Maldon.

If you’re looking for what’s on in Essex this Father’s Day, then how about booking a brewery tour or experience day at the Brentwood Brewing Company. This Micro-Brewery based in Brentwood, is the perfect gateway into the art of brewing and serves both traditional and craft beers.
This is the ideal gift for someone with an interest in beer who wants to know a little more about the art of brewing. It's £119 for a full day including a light lunch, you can get hands-on, making a beer yourself whilst gaining an understanding about the brewing process. Once the beer is ready, about a week later, you can collect 18 pints of the brew you helped to make.
This experience is available on the first Tuesday of each month for up to four people at a time, so it is ideal for friends or family members to do together.
