Meet Lisa: the dedicated sales advisor for our new retired community
Introducing the lovely Lisa Sandford
It was back in November 2024 when Lisa joined us on site as our dedicated sales executive at Burnham Waters, our new retired community in Essex. Since then she has met with lots of our customers and potential customers, she has welcomed numerous new residents into our village, and she has become a vital part of the Burnham Waters family.
Lisa is likely to be the first person you see or speak to when enquiring about one of our new retirement bungalows at Burnham Waters. She is the welcoming face in our sales and marketing suite, and she is here to answer any of your questions, guide you through the home buying process and to support you in any way she can as you plan to join our new retired community.
Having joined us over six months ago now, we thought it was about time we dedicated one of our blog posts to the lovely Lisa and explored a bit more about her, and what she loves most about working here at Burnham Waters!
Born in Essex, Lisa is based not too far away from Burnham Waters in the town of Stanford-le-Hope, where she lives with her three fur babies – an English Bulldog called Missy and two Pug/Jack Russell crosses named Bella and Bruno. After spending some time living and working in London, Lisa returned to Essex around eight years ago, keen to get back to her roots and to live closer to family and friends.
Getting to know Burnham-on-Crouch
Prior to joining the team at Burnham Waters, Lisa was already both familiar and fond of Burnham-on-Crouch having previously visited the area on numerous occasions to visit her brother, when he used to live here.
Speaking of Burnham-on-Crouch, Lisa said: “Burnham-on-Crouch is such a lovely town. One of the things I love most about it is that it’s still so quaint – it doesn’t have the feel of a big, intimidating or impersonal town. It has a really friendly and welcoming feel and it’s so peaceful here. It really is the perfect place to retire to!”
A dedicated sales advisor for Burnham Waters
With a background in estate agency and experience in both new build and in homes for retirement living, Lisa was the obvious choice when the Burnham Waters team was looking for a sales advisor to be based on site and to join our new retired community.
Talking of her experience, Lisa said: “When I lived in London, I spent 10 years working in estate agency, which has given me a fantastic grounding and a real passion and interest in the residential property sector. When I moved back to Essex, I knew I wanted to stay in property, and I found myself in the new homes sector. I have been fortunate enough to work for some great developers and on some really impressive schemes. Immediately prior to moving across to Burnham Waters, I was in fact working on a retirement scheme – which I thoroughly enjoyed.”
When Lisa was approached about the opportunity to work with the team at Burnham Waters, it seemed like the perfect fit, and she was keen to get to site and to get started! Since then, Lisa has become an integral part of the Burnham Waters team. She is a welcoming face as soon as you arrive at the development and has already forged great relationships with our retired community of existing residents and the team on site.
When asked what she most enjoys about working at Burnham Waters, Lisa said: “What I love most about working at Burnham Waters has to be the people – the residents, the customers and the wider team. It really is such a fantastic development and a great place to work. I can honestly say I have never been happier to get up and go into work in the morning!”
When asked about her thoughts on the development, Lisa added: “From the first time I visited the development I was really impressed. The quality of the homes that are being delivered here is so high. They are absolutely stunning, and the interior finish is beautiful. It’s a pleasure to show customers around these homes and to help them visualise a new lifestyle here.”
A new retired community is growing at Burnham Waters
Talking of the existing residents at Burnham Waters, Lisa said: “Speaking with those customers who have already moved in, it’s great to hear how happy they are. What has also been lovely to see is how new friendships have already started to form, and how supportive the residents all are of one another – and how welcoming when someone new moves in. There is a real sense of community here already and this is only going to grow as more residents move in, and the wider development takes shape.
“I really do believe that what is on offer at Burnham Waters is something very special and I look forward to welcoming many more new residents into our new community here.”

At Burnham Waters we have a range of one, two and three-bedroom retirement bungalows available – all designed for those over 55. Our homes offer residents the opportunity to become part of a thriving new retired community and to enjoy their continued independence, with the peace of mind that help, support and additional facilities are all on hand, if and when required.
As part of our retired community we will be delivering a host of onsite amenities – with plans for a village centre and a parade of shops. Residents living in our new retirement community will also enjoy access to a variety of leisure facilities. The planned facilities will include a swimming pool and tennis court as well as a gym and fitness suite with organised classes.
There is currently a range of one, two and three-bedroom bungalows available for sale, with homes ready to move in to.
